On Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2022, 54 participants from 17 different associations (Albania 🇦🇱, Belgium🇧🇪, Canada-USA FNE🇨🇦🇺🇸, Switzerland🇨🇭, Germany KPE🇩🇪, Spain🇪🇸, France🇫🇷, Hungary🇭🇺, Ireland🇮🇪, Italy🇮🇹, Lithuania🇱🇹, Luxembourg🇱🇺, Poland🇵🇱, Romania🇷🇴, Slovakia🇸🇰, Ukraine🇺🇦 and UK🇬🇧) met in Overijse, near Brussels, for the Federal Council 2022.

After an early Mass on Saturday morning, the weekend started by the presentation of the joys and challenges of each present association, that gave us a great overview of the current state of each one.

Then, as soon as the weather allowed it, the gathering took place outside. At this occasion, two General Commissioners were recognised: Natalia Andrusiak from Ukraine, and Alin Barbatu from Romania. Congratulations to them for their service!

The Federal Council voted and discussed various topics during this weekend, including the Federal Bureau’s moral and financial report, the World Youth Days 2023 in Lisbon, the project of Eurocamps, and so on.

We also had the joy to admit Ireland as a candidate association, and welcome 3 new associations as observers in our union: the Albanian, the Hungarian and the British associations. Welcome to them!

We took also the opportunity of this Federal Council in Belgium to learn more about Jean Corbisier, one of the founders of Catholic scouting in Belgium, thanks to two great speakers who joined us on Saturday late afternoon. In the evening, after a moment of silence (road hour or moment of light) and a typical Belgian dinner, a Belgian company animated a beautiful and multilingual campfire about the Christmas shared by the enemy soldiers during the 1st World War. We finished then the evening by a peaceful Adoration in the chapel.

The Belgian association welcomed us very well, with very operational logistics, cooking and transportation team. A big thank you to them!

Thank you to all participants for their service!
