The Federal Bureau of the UIGSE met on 28-29 August 2021 in the Federal Commissioner’s castle in Ustaritz, Basque Country, in the South of France. Bruno Borde, Federal Commissioner, Antonio Posa, Federal Chairman, Milisenta Miseviciute, Federal Commissioner’s deputy, Isabelle Trupin, Federal Treasurer and Eléonore Claret, International Project Officer, were present. We missed Katarzyna Kieler, Federal Vice-President as well as Father Pierre François, Federal Religious Adviser, who could not join us for the weekend. It was our first face-face meeting in a long time and last one before the Federal Council early October that will renew the Bureau for a new mandate 2021-2024.
We worked hard during all the weekend to prepare the Council. At the same time we enjoyed the warm welcome of Bruno and Marie-Camille, the beauty of their castle, the view of the mountains, the sun, the good Basque food (Basque biscuits, Basque chicken, Basque cake…). All this in a good scout spirit and very good atmosphere!
On Saturday evening, Bruno gave us a very nice tour of Bayonne by night. And we finished our working session on Sunday with Holy Mass in French-Basque language in Ustaritz.
