The 12th edition of Woodbadge Days took place at the Pilgrimage Basilica of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Marianka, Slovakia, on 14-15 February.
More than 60 participants from 13 associations — Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and the USA — gathered to reflect on the ingredients needed to organise pedagogical training internationally. This reflection took place through numerous inter-branch and branch-specific workshops.
The strong interest shown by so many trainers in harmonising pedagogy demonstrated a shared desire to ensure unity within the growing UIGSE family. The weekend reaffirmed a central conviction: unity comes through true encounter, which leads to fraternity.
Participants also received a wonderful welcome from the Slovak association. A beautiful Greco-Catholic Mass was celebrated by Bishop Milan in the Basilica, which participants also had the opportunity to visit.
While working together to gather the necessary ingredients for an international training camp recipe, participants were also able to experience the joy of a very successful, understandable and enthusiastic campfire, despite differences and the many languages spoken.
The event concluded with thanks to all participants for their presence.
